Like 2x / month, and you have/were diagnosed hypothyroid? I am still trying to figure out what is wrong with me, same old story. I am not IR and the gluc hasn't really done anything at all and AF is still around constantly, along with head hairloss, eyebrow hairloss, brain fog / concentration gone / "ADD"-like, fatigue, cold hands (right now in fact! brr!), etc etc. Am still wondering if I could be "subclinical" hypothyroid. Never shows up on standard blood lab tests (one doc said I was low on T3 after salivary test but...?) Can hypo cause AF to be crazy? They even did a fertility drug (leprazole?) to try and make me cycle once and stop AF, but it didn't work.
Just wondering...if you're hypo, what symptoms have you experienced (at least before you got it treated?)

When I was first diagnosed as hypo, my hair was dry falling out, I was cold all of the time, my body hurt and I felt like I had dementia or something because I couldn't think.
I started on levoxyl, but have now switched to Armour thyroid. I am feeling better and the brain fog is gone. ( thank God)
I would go to your doctor and get a TSH done, a free T -3 and 4 and your antibodies checked. I am not a thyroid expert on this board, but Shenacat and Pruniepie know alot and have helped me in the past.
Good luck, and I hope your feeling better.
O/T How is the Spiro working for you?? My doctor talked about putting me on it for the hairgrowth. It also helps with excess androgens too right??

My Mood: Points: 29,062.61 Bank: 24,864.74 Total Points: 53,927.35 | thank you Thank you! Man, I can barely type my hands are so cold. I, too, have the "Dementia." I forget stuff all the time, can't concentrate, and do weird things--like going off and leaving the house unlocked! And I'm so so tired, all the time. It's scary, and so discouraging b/c I have to work 50x as hard as anyone else to get through school...I have given up dreams of grad school b/c of this.
Spiro has been ok...it has helped UNWANTED hair problems and acne, but hasn't regrown any head hair. Of course, the shedding looks like it has slown down. I have lost quite a bit of weight (about 20%) and 1/2 my original dress size but AF has been wild, starting her garbage about 5 months after spiro began. I'm not sure if they're related or not, and I'm not on bcp (yet). I tried the natural progesterone cream and it still didn't reign in crazy AF.
My thyroid always comes up "normal."

Points: 255.28 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 255.28 | guineapig, a few months ago, i was on both met ( for pcos) and spiro (for high blood pressure), and the combination of the two made my cycles go haywire. i was having a period every 8-10 days. i know for sure it was the combination of the two that did that because i had taken them both separate from each other before, and had regular cycles each time while using them independently of each other. i asked my PCP to take me off the spiro because i couldn't deal with the constant afs, and once i stopped taking the spiro, my cycles went back to normal...
