With either Provera (synthetic progesterone) or Prometrium (natural progesterone), it can take up to 2 weeks after taking the last dose to have a cycle - although more typically, it should take a week or less.
If you go more than 2 weeks, you may not have had a sufficient enough lining to shed. In this case, you will likely need to do a course of estrogen supplementation (i.e., for 2 to 3 weeks), and then an addition week to 10 days of estrogen PLUS progesterone. The estrogen will build the lining, and the withdrawal after discontinuing the estrogen and progesterone will induce a period.
