Insulin Resistance Diet Hi Dawn!
The IR diet is the Insulin Resistance Diet. Many cysters follow it with great success. I am also on the IR diet and have lost 15 pounds.
The IR diet helps you link the carbs you eat with protein to avoid insulin spikes when you eat. The formula is that you should not eat more than 30 grams of carbs at any time you eat (since I am insulin resistant I eat every two to three hours - i.e., breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, and dinner). When you do eat carbs you should link 30 grams of carbs with at least 14 grams of protein or 14 grams of carbs with at least 7 grams of protein.
I hope this makes sense and it helps! Please feel free to PM or email me with any questions!!
Blessings
~Chris
