Default What kind of MD to see?

Hello all, I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2003 when trying to conceive my second child. We hav been fortunate and now have three children and feel our family is complete. Recently, I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia and began having delayed periods again. Although, not sad about the irratic periods, I realize their is probably a bigger issue at hand.

Now, I'm not sure what MD to schedule an appt with. Should I visit my regular OB, my PCP, RE or general endo?

Any suggestions, would be much appreciated.

well...which dr. diagnosed you with hypoglycemia recently? if they are not the one to treat it did they have an opinion as to who should?

my first instinct would be to see an endo to deal with the hypoglycemia. and as you have pcos and are experiencing the irregular periods again its likely something is out of whack with that. now, regular endo or RE is beyond me. do you have either already? i tend to stick with what/who I know.

I agree with the pp, technically, you'd see an endocrinologist but if you're already an established pt with another doctor you really like, you may be able to be treated by him/her.

My PCP treats my hypothyroidism, which should be treated by an endo--but I couldn't find one I liked so my PCP was like "you don't need a specialist, you've got me."
