i've been on met before, though not in large amounts. i'm nor ir. it didn't seem to have much effect, though i wasn't on it for very long. a few years ago i was on it for three months. the following year i got af a bit more (my norm is about twice a year), but i didin't get pg, so i don't think i was ovulating.
i finally relented after 3 1/4 years of ttc and took clomid, 50mg, cds 2-6. i got pg the first time.
i've used wild yam cream to successfully start af (nonovulatory), and prefer this to pills that i've been given.
i'm currently taking 125 mcg of levothyroxine for my underactive thyroid.
i'm considering going back on bcp, as i don't want a second baby within a year of the first

afterall, i may spontaneously ovulate (hey, it could happen).
i think that if you want to ovulate naturally, your best chances are to stay off bcps and use a barrier method in the meantime. start taking your basal body temperature now, and see if you get any sort of pattern. if you learn how your body works this year, you'll have a better starting point when you're ttc next year. just what i would do. if you get consistent with temping, and it wouldn't be horrible if you accidentally got pg (it's not the most effective bc method, but better than nothing), you could use the temping this year to tell when not to bd, but if you're anything like i am, you won't have any sort of pattern to go off of. i used fertilityfriend.com to track my temps. it was way easier for me to do that than trying to keep track on paper.
not sure what to do about the androgens.... maybe that's what the met was for??? it's been too long since i was given it and the explaination for taking it. maybe someone else has the answer to that?
