What do you mean by it didn't 'work'? What outcome were you looking for?

I was curious by what you ment by "dosen't work", Metformin helps to lower circulating insulin levels in your blood (basically by your body being able to use it better), in turn it can lower androgens, specifically testosterone. For me, I saw decreased insulin and testosterone levels. This was proved by blood work taken before I started the Met and about 1 year after starting it. It can take a little while to notice the benefits, some things are only seen by lab values, other ppl can start to cycle on their own and notice less male-pattern hair growth. (I call it my man hairs), but there are other insulin sensitizers that are out there if you did want to change. HTH!

What dosage are you on? I was on 1000mg for awhile then 1500mg then 2000mg was the number for me. But I was ttc and had 2 children due to using metformin. It took 2 months with the second child and 8 with the 3rd I have a 16 year old which was conceived naturally with no help. Not sure if you are ttc or manage pcos symtoms. You may have to see your doctor to up the dosage to see better results, of course metformin is not for everyone. Hope this helps.

If you're TTC, my doctor would say the next step is Clomid. If I hadn't gotten pregnant the month I finally did, I was supposed to do a round of Clomid the following month.

I currently am taking 2000mg of Metformin, vitamin D 50000IU, Effexor, Pravastan, etc. My real concern is having my cycle. I want to have children, however, I know with having my cycle that will come along with.

Did you take a look at the information in the links posted above? There is a LOT of good information there that can help you.

Also, what is your current lifestyle like? Consistent healthy lifestyle changes can dramatically increase your chances of having a healthy cycle.
