Default what is an optimal estrogen level?

when i research i see estrogen ranges... but does anyone know what an optimal estrogen level is in a non menopausal woman?

my level is 42 and i get massive hot flashes...trying to see is this could be causing it?

i hear alot of women with pcos has too much estrogen but my estrogen levels always seem to be on the lower side of the range.

ty!!!

My estrogen was 43 on day 3, rechecked midcycle when it should've been much much higher and it was down to 28. Have been daignosed as "perimenopausal." Have all your other hormones checked as well. Dr. Vliet who has written several great books on womens hormonal issues says an "optimal" level for women is above 90, although lab reference ranges show lower. I know ever since my estrigen levels fell this low I have problems with all the classic perimenopausal symptoms, suchas hot flashes, irritability, mood swings, and particularly forgetfullness. Most lin=braries carry her books. I currently am finishing up "Savvy womans guide to PCOS" and "Women, Weight and Hormoines." Both excellent resources! I saw your other post about the DHEA too. Mine is over 100 coupled with low estrogen...hence, facila hair, etc. The elevaed androgen hormone (DHEA) coupled with everything else is what led to the perimenopausal diagnosis, however we are beginning to rule out PCOS and think the PCOS may veru well be what is throwing me into menoausal type symptoms that started when I was 34-35. I jsut turned 36. Good luck!
