What are other symptoms of IR to look out for? - confused

Hi I have searched this forum and still haven't found the exact answers I'm after. I'm still confused about how you can tell whether you are IR or not from the different symptoms you may experience.

I don't know whether I'm IR or not as I've never been tested however, from reading many posts there seems to be a lot of information saying that IR is a "known cause of PCOS". I personally am normal/thin in weight and when I was DX in 1995 I was very underweight from poor eating habits (which itself can cause irregular menses). I do have a bit of a tummy, but do also put weight on other parts of my body too, if my weight increases.

If I was overweight and having difficulty losing weight then I would have thought that was a symptom of IR, however as I'm not I was wondering if there are any other symptoms to look out for.

I do have to eat regularly to keep my blood sugar up and they ever dip really low my body needs food immediately, and I can turn into a monster (really irritable, heachache, etc, almost panic like) until I eat something, but then I'd usually go for something savory rather than sweet (don't have much of a sweet tooth) and I prefer steak to carbs.

I haven't had any recent bloodwork done as I'm still waiting for my medical cover to arrive since moving to France from the UK, so have been trying to sort out my symptoms of no AF/anovulatory/acne/a little excess hair, with alternative remedies to see if any work, mainly to regulate my cycles.

Hypoglycemia and Diabetic symptoms basically? as IR is another name for Pre diabetes. Im a thin cyster with IR. Can only be managed by low GI diet, lifestyle changes with or without medications like Metformin, an insulin controlling diabetes med.

If you google insulin resistance (metabolic syndrome or syndrome X) you will find a heap of info on the types of symptoms, diagnosis and treatments.
