Default What is ovidrel for?

Is it to induce ovulation? But isn't that what clomid is for? And what does the estrogen patch do?

Sorry, just a little confused!

Clomid stimulates follicle growth. Ovirdril or HcG trigger shot is to trigger ovulation to help secure your O'ing. Usually happens within 24-48 after the shot.

As for the estrogen patches i'm not sure, but I think they are to help with lining issues but I could be wrong.

Progesterone is used after ovulation sustain a pregnancy if there is implantation usually started 2-3 days after ovulation. But, if there isn't and is confirmed usually by beta or a neg hpt on or around 14dpo.

Ovidrel is the trigger shot after clomid or other ovulation induction meds. It is different then other forms of HCG because it doesn't have to be injected into the muscle.

Ovidrel has been my saving grace. With Clomid, I didn't O. My follicles would grow and be a nice size but they wouldn't go anywhere. So when I went to the RE, he wanted to keep trying the Clomid and added the Ovidrel. Worked like a charm for me, just no BFP from the Clomid. I'm on injectables now and will still trigger with Ovidrel.
