-off all hormone meds since having pulmonary embolism in August 2009
-Main symptoms: weight gain (especially annoying in mid-section/abdomen), high androgens, very low progesterone, no periods unless on OC
-fortunate to have very good bp, blood sugar, cholesterol, etc., no hirsutism.
Marit are you waiting to see Dr Kase by any chance? We were referred to her too but couldn't wait so are seeing Dr Payton instead ... she's an ob/gyn with the fertility group. Kase isn't the only RE in that group ... Dr Chizen is a specialist too. We saw her when I was first diagnosed with PCOS and had to stop since we lived in Lanigan and didn't have our own car at the time.
Anyways I hope you get in to see her soon. I have heard only really great things about Kase.
Actually, I'm seeing doctor Khandwala...and who knows how long the wait will be! I'm getting my blood tests back on Monday (I hope) and we'll see what they say.
I hate waiting!

Hi there everyone! I live in Red Deer, Alberta. Have lived here basically my whole life. I was born in St. Catherines, ON. Going back there in two weeks for my cousins wedding and I can't wait, I haven't been back in about 8 years.

Hey everyone, I am from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. If anyone is looking for an RE, there are one's in Regina and the wait is pretty short. About 3 months. Has anyone here ever seen Dr. Olatunbosun in Saskatoon? He's the head of fertility at the U of S.

Hey Merit and Jeanny,
I saw Dr.Chizen for 4 years in Saskatoon. She is awesome. Don't worry when they tell you the wait is a year. They told me that also and it was only 3 months. Keep your chin up. Dr. Kase is also excellent.
