I'm new to this site. I was diagnosed with PCOS last week by my GP and I have an appt with a OBGYN next week.
I'm 29 and DH is 30, we live in Northern NSW.
We have been ttc since April 2007, I had a m/c last Sept.
What should I expect at my first appt? And at what point do you need to be referred on to a IVF centre? I'm assuming the OBGYN can prescribe most fertility meds like Clomid and Metformin?

Hi Jamie...I'm from NSW also, Near newcastle, where abouts are you?

I saw and RE, not gyn..a RE can do right up to IVF, they are usually a aprt of a IVF centre ( I think, mine was) ,so maybe you might want to ask to see an RE instead of gyn..RE helps with infertility etc...

I'm in Port Mac

I'm not sure why he referred me to an OBGYN, I'm assuming if I have no luck then the OBGYN will refer me on to the Sydney IVF clinic here.

I'll see how it goes next week and go from there.
