Talking What're your favorite Gym Exercises/Machines?

I just re-upped my old Gym Membership for 3 months. So hopefully this $100+ investment will get me motivated to go!

It's got a swimming pool, so that's great.

I just thought I'd share . . . and look for support/motivation.

What are your favorite gym exercises/machines? (I could use some suggestions)

I HATE working out around other people, especially when those other people are in *perfect* shape, so does anyone else have problems with this? How do you deal?

I don't now the name of the "machine", but when I used to work out at the gym I loved the one where you kind of climb up and support yourself with your arms and then raise your legs up~ it concentrated on your abs. For some insane reason I actually thought it was fun!!

Good luck and go get moving

I love the eliptical trainer.

It is low impact and it is said to be the next best thing to running. I like it because you work your arms and legs, in turn working everthing in between.

Another vote for the elliptical!!

I don't care for the ones with the moving handles...I prefer the Precor ellipticals.

I also like the bike (as part of a spinning class)

I love the elliptical too but I hate the bike.

I was working out for an hour on the machines five times a week and weight loss was so slow.

My trainer told me not to go to the aerobics classes because it's hard to maintain the optimal heart rate for "fat burning". I ignored her and started doing step classes. Anyway, the weight just started melting off even though my heart rate was going through the roof . Now at the end of every class I do 15 minutes on the elliptical to make up 1 hour of cardio a day.

I vote eliptical trainer too...without handles preferably.
I also adore yoga...and I like to add a bit of swimming as my reward at the end of a good workout!

Default Thanks!

It looks like I'll be trying the eliptical trainer!

Unfortunately, my gym doesn't have any classes - but I've been thinking of trying step aerobics at home with DVDs.

Thanks for your help!
