On the user profile, it says Referral. What is it, why do some people have them and others dont? Is it good or bad?

I *think* a referral is when you have, let's say, a link to sc , let's say on your siggy on on another board and someone clicks on it then joins sc through that link. I am not 100% sure but that is what I always thought it was .
