Default What's for dinner in August?

Here's the new thread for this month. Metformin has me thinking about the bathroom, not the kitchen haha. So I haven't decided on tonight's dinner. What about you guys?

Last night I made some baked mac and cheese for my brother at his request and the twerp took it all home with him! Luckily, I saved some out for me, so I'll reheat that this evening, and I think I'll do some chicken to go with it. I love the breast tenderloins that our local supermarket has, so I'll probably season it with some season salt and oregano. Yum!

And, Annie, you're welcome! Hope that you feel better soon!

My parents were feeling sorry for me (see ticker in my sig) and just dropped off beef stew and fresh bread so I wouldn't have to cook. They also brought me a bottle of Tums.

Annie- Hope you are feeling better soon!

Adyllia- Hope your little one makes an appearance soon!

Tonight it's just to hot to care about food. DH said he might have toast. I might pick up a salad on the way home tonight.

Well today was rough. I got really nauseous at my desk but luckily nothing happened. In the oven right now is a pork tenderloin and I'm making some instant brown rice on the side.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Met won't get the best of me!!

Oh, a7xnsl98d, where in WV do you live? I live in Winchester, VA, close to Martinsburg, WV. Just thought I'd ask to see if I have a neighbor.

Annie- I hope your Met s/e were better today.

I so wanted to make the apple raisen porkchops from another thread, but I couldnt' find whole wheat stuffing! They used to carry it at Walmart here, but now it's a white/wheat mix.

Tonight I had a fruit plate of nectarine, grapes and plum. DH had leftover Pizza Hut and DD had some of each.

Tonight we had pork tenderlion, savory herbs stuffing, green beans w/onions & bacon in them.

Jash- Have you ever made stuffing out of waffles? Just get the whole wheat waffles, it is delicious!

Thanks Jash. Unfortunately I did have an incident at work, and I went to my mom's house on my lunch break and ate a big fat piece of apple pie with whipped cream. I don't know what I was thinking.

Tonight I just made a caesar salad-nothing too exciting.

You've got a neighbor! I actually work in Winchester, where I'm currently sitting. It's nice to have neighbors! I love the avatar, btw. I was a HUGE fan of the X-Files and David D back in the day. In fact, I just re-watched the movie two weeks ago. lol

For dinner tonight, soon to be ex DH begged me to cook my fried chicken and baked Mac and Cheese, so that's what I'm having. Good ol' artery clogging food.

Sounds good!

Tonight I made oven baked pork chops. I just put 4 in a pie dish and poured some light olive oil over them then added Mrs. Dash and sea salt. They are boneless and pretty thin, so I cooked them at 375 for about 30 minutes.
