Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
2 Corinthians 3-4. NIV

My favorite song of the moment is Much Forgiven by Ten Shekel Shirt, it is based on Luke 7's story of the prostitute, pharisee and Jesus. I really love the confirmation that based on my repentance and love for God that I am forgiven.
The other one I like from them is Ocean. I am so in love with the ocean and can feel God's awesome love and power there, this song really says my heart as well... there's just something about the ocean...
Patty
P.S. This was a really good idea for a thread. I love Mercy Me's song as well!

I have so many favorite Christian songs it's hard to narrow it down. I will say that I love "I can only imagine" also. Another of my favorites and the one that I love to hear when I am down on myself for making mistakes is....Ocean Floor by....ok I forget who it's by. I am soooo bad about that.
I agree that it is very hard to pick. I must say, you ladies have all picked very great songs! Nice taste, girls!
But I must admit that I am one of the biggest Third Day fans to walk the earth, and my current favorite of theirs, which is on the "Come Together" CD is called "When the Rain Comes".
If you like "I Can Only Imagine", I highly recommend buying the CD if you can. All their songs are great!
In Christ's Love,
Lisa
PS-Roseslilgirl, I think Ocean Floor is by Audio Adrenaline, another one of my fav bands!

Girls- we are cysters by chance but friends by choice. I love you girls so much. You give me strength, courage, guidance, support, and friendship
My favorite song is from a tape we use to listen to years ago at summer camp. I don't know who sings it, or the name, but it goes like this:
Friends are friends forever, if the Lord's the Lord of them. And a friend will not say never, and the welcome never ends. Though it's hard let you go, in the Father's hands I know, because a livetimes not to long to live as friends.
The words might not be exact! LOL! It's been a long time since I heard it, but it's one of those songs that just pops into your head in the shower, or driving down the road.
The name of that song, which I agree is excellent, is simply "Friends" and it is by Michael W. Smith. You had the chorus almost perfect:
And friends are friends forever
if the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
that a lifetime's not too long
to live as friends.
Now you have the entire chorus to sing! hehe!
You reminded me of my fav Michael W. Smith song, "This is Your time", which was written in honor of Rachel Scott, the girl who was killed for professing her belief in God in Columbine. It goes a little something like this:
It was a test that we could all hope to pass
But none of us would want to take
Faced with the choice to deny God and live
For her there was one choice to make
This was her time
This was her dance
She lived every moment
Left nothing to chance
She swam in the sea
Drank of the deep
Embraced the mystery of all she could be
This was her time
Anyway, I have already said too much so I better post this now. hehe! I apologize for being long winded but, I love Christian music!
In Christ's Love,
Lisa

God of Wonders- Third Day... esp. as we're ttc... realizing that a new life is such a wonder! What a great thread!!
My dh & I are both Christians, have been ttc for 1 1/2 years and am just now beginning to wonder how we feel about things like iui and ivf. What do any of you think? or what have your experiences been? Thanks!
In Christ,
Lisa

I love anything by Rich Mullins especially the one that goes 'My Deliver is coming, my deliver is standing by' it's the one where he's got kids in the background singing with him it is so powerful to hear, also 'Awesome God'. I love anything w/MaryMary and Kirk Franklin 'Stomp and Revolution'. Of course anything by Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman "JESUS is LIfe" I guess i have more than 1 favorite christian song God bless!

It goes : forever God is Strong
forever God is Near
Forever God is Faithful,
Forever, Forever!
It has an especially special meaning for me. I first heard this song the day my son and I came home from Albany Medical Center in Albany NY. Over an hour and half from home. We knew no one there, had no family, no money to speak of. Yet God provided me a place to sleep (right in my son's hospital room), food (free of charge), and Christian drs and nurses. And in spite of his being a hemophiliac, God was faithful in protecting my baby, and he didn't even bleed what a "normal" child would. Praise God forever for that!
The other song that I'd have to say that is a favorite of mine would be Micheal W. Smiths : Above all. It's a very moving song to me, at the point in my walk I'm in. I'm struggling with my walk. Don't always feel God cares. I know in my heart he does, but the head is hard to convince when there is so much coming against me.

Lisa - I am with you, I love Nicole C. Mullens "My Redeemer Lives", and Rebecca St. James - I can't remember the name of it.
Lisaellis - I would suggest getting a book called "When Empty Arms Become a Heavy Burden". This is written by a Christian and her doctor. When I read the book, I was able to have words to express my opinion on ART.
Thanks Laural, I've heard really good things about that book before. I'll have to check it out!
Such great song choices!! I wish I could listen to all of them now!
I love anything by Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith. The Christian radio station in Pittsburgh only plays music on the weekends, but it seems that every time we tune in, we hear something by ffh. I'd never really heard them before, but I'm really enjoying their songs too.
Lisa
