I am 36 aand been diagnosed with PCOS for the past 18 years. Since then i have been on Dianette for all those years which hasn't helped with the hirsuitism but acted as a contraceptive.
I am going to my GP with the hope of being prescribed Metformin. What tests should i ask for?? eg, fasting blood sugar or what? I feel i sure my doc will be sympathetic as long as i go armed with info. I would appreciate any advice please.

Welcome to Soulcysters, good luck with the visit to your doctor, many GP's dont know about Metformin for PCOS, s the more info you have the better. If your doctor doesn't prescribe it to you ask to be refered to a specialist (GYN).

I'm not experienced enough with the PCOS thing, but just wishing you the very best. I've just been to my Doc to see about getting it sorted out, so I know how you feel! I was really nervous about going, but things went better than expected, so try not to worry and I think your right going with as much info as you can.
