Post What should A1c be at before becoming pregnant?

Hi
I was wondering what the ideal % is for your hemoglobin A1c before getting pregnant?

My last test (2 wks ago) was at 6.1 % and I am wondering if this is too high.
Does it need to be at a certain level for a certain period of time before pregnancy?

Anyone have any info, let me know.

I am nervous for I may be pregnant and can't see my doc for a week yet. Its driving me nuts!

Help!

Mine was 6.0 when I concieved and the docs seemed okay with that. They let me start trying to TTC again after being diagnosed when it was under 7.

Good luck!!!
