I am changing jobs, my last day at my current job is tomorrow and my first day at my new one is Friday. Unfortunately I won't have medical insurance from tomorrow until October. I tried to refill my met prescription today but they wouldn't let me because it isn't due for 3 more weeks. I counted my pills and I have anough met for 38 more days -- and I have 49 days until I have insurance again. The met is REALLY expensive without insurance, so I am not sure what I should do -- cut down my dose a couple of days a week to spread the pills out (I usually miss a pill here and there anyway), just miss the 11 days, or suck it up and buy the pills at full price. The full price thing really is an issue becasue I am taking a pay cut for this job, my rent just went up, and I will not get a paycheck until the beginning of October.

Denise,
Have you looked at the prices at other pharmacies or online pharmacies? They might save you a bunch. Do your parents sometimes like to help you out? A friend or anyone like that? I really feel like it's worth it, regardless of cost. Otherwise, if I were you, I'd go really low-carb if I planned to miss some doses.
Good luck to you,
Sheri

I would call your Dr's office and discuss your scenario with him. He may have drug company samples he can give you to tide you over, or can phone in a new RX for you. Worth a shot.
Good luck!

Christy has an AWESOME idea I say call your doc and explain the situation to him/her and see if they can help
I know my GP does things like this. My other thought would be to also maybe lower your does by a pill. I know what u mean by HOW expensive this stuff is.
Good luck hun. I hope something works out for you
