Default what should I do? Should I stick with this R.E?

I went to an RE. After showing him my last blood test from a GYN that clearly show that I have PCOS and after getting an intravaginal ultrasound at his office with 30 cysts on my left ovary and over 25 cysts on my right ovary, he says that I *really* don't have PCOS but that I am PCO "like". Like??? HUH?? He said this because I am not overweight (I am 5'4" and weigh 115 lbs), no excess hair, no bad acne (even though I do have acne - well, at least I think so), I got a period in Nov 20 and then really really light in Jan but he thinks that is better than some people with PCOS he sees. So now, he wants to put me on metformin.

I went to this RE to get pg (DH cannot have children so we want to do donor sperm). So now he wants to start me on Metformin. Does that make sense? I thought he would just give me the injectibles or the clomid so that way I can get the IUI or IVF done?? I am so confused now.

Ha, that's funny, because I'm all worried about why my doctor DIDN'T put me on Metformin. I guess we really don't need it, so it should be up to you. I have learned that if you don't feel good about the doctor, you are probably right. Being a thin cyster (I'm not as thin as you, 5'3", 136), definately causes the doctors to reevaluate. I really think they just don't know what to do with us. Anyway, my point is, you are probably more educated on this than he is. I would either tell him/her what you want to do, and insist that they do it, or go somewhere else. We have to be in charge of our treatment, or nothing will ever get done!
