Default what should I expect?

Hi everyone. I am new to PCOS tratment in the UK as I was diag and treated whilst in the middle east. I now want to ttc again and so saw my GP who referred me to the fertility clinic of the local hospital. I was lucky enough to get an app for next month but had to cancel unfortunately until the beg of April. It is with a fertility investigation nurse apparently. What should I expect to happen and is any treatment likely to follow shortly afterwards or take months before getting started? I previously had fsh inj and IUI. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance! Caroline

Hi Caroline
Not sure if they will want to do the full cheack again, but I can tell you what happened when I was ttc#1 and was referred to a UK hospital.

My GP did a number of tests beforehand to check whether or not I was ovulating - I was but sporadically. She also sent me for an ultrasound to check whether there were any larger cysts on my ovaries.

When I went to the fertility unit the nurse did weight, height, blood pressure and then I saw the consultant who asked me lots of questions about my cycle, how long we'd been ttc etc. I also had an internal (they alwasy want to do that one!)

We're thinking of asking to be referred again as ttc#2 is not going well without drugs, so I will probabaly be asking for Clomid again.

Hope it goes well.
Deeds x

Thanks Deeds. My GP said there was no point in pres prog / clomid based on my prior experiences and so said she'd refer me and that I would get an u/s to check the state of my ovaries. I really hope all goes well but from what I understand here in the uk ovulation induction seems to be confined to oral meds unless pursuing IVF. This prob means IVF is my next option but I don't think there is any funding for second babies. Does anyone know if this in correct? If so I guess we may have expensive times ahead. Good luck in ttc your second baby. caroline
