Is your hair loss a result of elevated testosterone levels? The reason I ask is that there are many factors that can contribute to hair loss. Mine is a result of elevated testosterone AND nutritional deficiencies. I had very low iron and vitamin D levels, so I have been on supplementation.
I've read that the higher insulin levels in people with IR can also cause hair loss.
Since you're on spiro, I'm assuming that you're on some form of birth control as well. If you're taking bcp, I would make sure it's one of the least androgenic kind out there....the progesterin in some pills converts really easily into testosterone. I take ortho cyclen and it's been great for me...others that have a low androgenicity are yasmin and yaz.
Good luck.

You can use Nioxin (hair treatment shampoo, conditioner, scalp treatment) to help stimulate re-growth and hopefully your scalp will hold onto it. Sorry, I know how bad that sucks as I have the same problem.

It also could have something to do with your shampoo, or more likely there are shampoos that make it worse.

One of the reasons I was first diagnosed in college is because I was loosing hair by the handfulls. One of the things actually my hairdresses suggested was using a shampoo that does NOT contain "laurel sulfates". I heeded her advice and much to my surprise it abated.

I use Alba Botanicals http://www.albabotanica.com/ but many natural shampoos skip these chemicals.
