Question What are these rashes?!?!?!?!?!

Hello Ladies.I'm writing to you with desperation for an answer!!I have these rashes. They are on my neck (JUST the backs and left and right side of my neck-as in where a necklace would lay.-but I don't wear one)They are on both of my armpits, they are behind my ears, and they are in my vaginal area (on my mound, and in the folds by my legs), and they are also "between" my breasts, as in my cleavage area. The rashes on my neck and between my breasts are "red" and if I itch the skin turns white and sorta flakey. The rashes everywhere else are a blotchy brown/red color and also get flakey when itched.I have had 3 doctors look at the, including my obgyn. One told me its psorasis, one told me its "yeast" rashes and one told me its a "fungal" rash.I've been treated with 4 different types of creams and then one doctor even prescribed a cream, which when I picked up from the pharmacy, I found out was simply "athletes foot cream", LITTERALLY!The one cream I have found that seems to work on keeping down the itching of these rashes, and also clearing them up (for a day or two at a time), removing some of the brown-ness and redness of them is a cream called trimcinolone acetonide cream USP 0.5%I know that noone here is a doctor, but do you have these same types of rashes, if so, what are they called and is there something I can take or put on them to make them subside for more than just a day or two.any input is appreciated Thank you!Melisa Marie

Hi there,

I've had the rash on my thighs and under my arms!! They just appeared out of nowhere. If I leave it alone then it doesn't itch as badly. But once I start scratching...can't stop. I thought it was a seasonal thing. Maybe it is PCOS related then.

I do have the really really dry flaky skin you're talking about. But mine are in patches on the side of my stomach and near armpits. I use this thick cream that comes in a big jar by Eucerin. It helps a lot. What I noticed, is that if I eat the bad carbs like the white starchy foods and eat too much sugary foods, then the skin patches become worse. I'm back on my strict diet and the skin problems are clearing up. I hope some of this helps.

I have problems on and off with random rashes popping up that doctors can't explain. Backs of knees are generally where they start. It's gone from calves to upper thighs, armpits, arms, you name it. It was almost like long term hives.

I've had cortisones of various kinds, sarna lotion to soothe it (otc), stuff for skin mites, fungal stuff, the works... nothing helped. the ONLY thing I found that helped was tea tree oil. I actually got in a fight with a dermatologist about it after doing 'his' stuff on one side of my body, and 'my' stuff on the other...

I took a hypo allergetic lotion and mixed tea tree oil with it to a tolerable strength, and would apply that. Then I made a spray of witch hazel and tea tree (shake before spraying). A little 3 oz bottle I fill with the witch hazel and put about 10 drops of tea tree in. That is more cooling and soothing. I also tried some 'naturopathic' pills for hives when I felt things coming on, and that helped a little bit. One thing I do know is that stress is one of my triggers. If I feel it starting, I DO NOT itch, and start the tea tree regimine, or even a 'after burn' type aloe lotion.

So... that's what works for me... I've had no luck with dr's on that one either.

Hi Catsnack
Thanks for replying to my post.
I've had these for years, and I've noticed that mine too, are made worse with the more stress I have.

I will take your advice and try the tea tree oil.
Isn't it funny how dr's get mad when you bring up anything that isn't made by the pharmacutical companies!

Thanks again!!

My friend had this issue as well and it turned out to be yeast related. She went on a yeast elimination diet for a few weeks and it cleared up and hasn't returned since.

I had some how the same sort of rash not itchy tho on my bikini area and another rash just right up on my chest which was itchy.
it all happened when I was on BCP for 3 months ,on the last month which I was on Dian 35 the rashes started, obviously I went to my drem and she did a fungal test and nothing
it was there for 2 months I thought they are part of the side effects and never gonna go away.
BUT HELL THEY DID.
after I stopped the bcps I had all sort of reactions rash, muscle ache....
I started milk thistle and they did go away in 1.5 month I cant ever remember when I just noticed one day while I was shaving my B area.
I really recommend milk thistle after all my derm couldnt figure out what was the problem she even wanted to do biopsy.

Hi miss62,
yeah, I've had mine continously for over a year now. It is just irritating for one, but painful for another because they itch so bad, and when I sleep, or I'm on certain meds I'm not really lucid, and I itch, itch, and itch some more.

Like you, I've undergone many tests and it is not a fungal thing, it is not a yeast thing, and it is not ringworm (yes, one dr. even thought it was ringworm. LOL)
I've not had problems from bcp's because all this started before I ever took any.

I had a hystorectomy 2 weeks ago, and ever since then, the rashes have become more of a problem. My obgyn says she thinks it has something to do with high testosterone. I started estrogen pills today so, we'll see if they help any.

I wasn't going to go on hormones, but due to my overgrowth of hair on my face (SERIOUSLY--I grow a better beard and mustach than my husband!!! NO JOKE!) I want to get electrolosis, and my obgyn said it wouldn't help unless I go on hormones because the testosterone would override everything. I've always had very high testosterone levels, even higher than my hubby.

So, i'm glad I had surgery, im still in a lot of pain from it, but at least I'm on the right track to getting my hormones under control.
