I took it at different times over the course of a year or two as my schedule and routine or dosage changed. Benefits-wise, I don't think it makes a difference when you take it, but you may find that taking it at a certain time is better for you. I tried to take my biggest dosage at night just because I could sleep through the symptoms and if I was nauseated or got diahrrea, I would wake up in my own house where I could deal with it in privacy, instead of having tummy troubles at work or something.

I take all of mine (1500mg) in the morning.

You shouldnt take your met all at once!! That is prob why you are sick.. Try taking 500 3x a day! one in the morning and then every 6hrs with food and see if that helps.... its suppose to keep you insulin low all day not just in the morning! Even with the ER I dont think that is the intended way to take it!

Karen have you tried taking it at night before you go to bed? I would try it if I were you that way you at least sleep through the bad side effects.

My Mood: Points: 1,350.27 Bank: 0.14 Total Points: 1,350.41 | I take my met 3 times a day. 500mg with each meal. I got really lucky, I haven't had any of the horrible met side effects. The only thing that I suffer from is if I don't eat quite enough with it I get BAD heartburn.

My Mood: Points: 3,807.88 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,807.88 | Just make sure your stomach is coated, lined, armed and ready! I have learned that if you eat a little and then take it, you will pay. If you eat and take it like an hour or thirty minutes later, yes, you will pay. I have found, if you eat a healthy substantial amount of food and take it with that meal (mine is generally 2x at dinner and 2x at breakfast) then the cramping, nausea and diarhea is little to none. |
