Default What are Twiglets?

Hi Cycters,
I am reading PCOS Diet book and it talks about Twiglets. What is it ? Do you know of a US equivalent? Thanks!

Thumbs down

Hello there. Twiglets are another type of cheesesticks, they look like twigs little brown "sticks" with knobbly bits on them - they taste a bit like sticks too, lol! Think kind of like an All Bran version of cheese sticks, Sorry don't know what the US equivalent would be

They are the most disgusting revolting gross blech form of snack ever!

That's maybe because they tast of marmite which I can't stand.

Don't let me put you off, LOTS of people love them!

I don't know anyone who likes them - they are truly disgusting. Can't believe they are still sold.

Did anyone see the Mr Bean sketch where he makes one from a twig for a party snack?

I hate Twiglets!!!

The best alternative would be pretzels!

Does anyone remember the chocolate coated pretzels? I really liked them but they disappeared. Was I the only one?

Ladies,
You are cracking me up ! lol hunterli I went to that website and that story had me laughing ! They do look like pretzels. I'll probably just eat a handful of lowfat pretzels instead of Twiglets.

Sorry to arrive late (not been able to access the site for days!!).

I LUUURVE twiglets

But then I too, like Alison and Lynn, love Marmite. The ads are right - you either love it or hate it. My husband thinks I am barking but there is nothing better than Marmite on warm, buttered toast. Mmmm. Yum! (sorry - anyone feeling ill yet? lol)

Bovril, on the other hand is truly disgusting. For some reason there was this urban myth in our house when I was a kid that it was made out of boiled down turtles. Don't ask me why. Foul stuff!

Ally - I would agree. Pretzels would be the nearest equivalent I suppose (unless they sell Vegimite in the States?..or is that just getting too complicated? lol).
