I love salad but since going back on Met, I can't eat it. Iceburg lettuce give me serious GI "distress"....and I'm talking, the smallest piece even. It's awful. This is the 3rd time I've been on Met. The other two times I was taken off it for not being IR, even though it was helping my cycles and now I finally test IR so I'm back on it. Duh! I'm only up to 1,000mg a day and can't seem to get over the side effects this time around. I'm on the ER as well. Oh, I can't eat eggs this time around either and that's never been the case before. This is crazy. I finally need the stuff and can't seem to tolerate it very well. The other two times I didn't "need" it and had NO s/e. Figures, eh? lol
I like to know what up with ice berg lettuce as well. It is the only thing that makes me have gastro problems from the met. It been over 2 years now since i had lettuce i use to love lettuce.

I've always thought that it was the water content. Until it started happening with romaine and spinach. It's sure is frustrating! It's kind of hard to diet without salads....I miss my chicken and spinach salads

then it probably is definately the fiber-i still eat it all but i have to "plan" out when according to what i'm doing that day-that would be bad if i am in the car in between towns when it "kicks in"...it has happened before....VERY SCARY...
