Thread: what a waste of time

I went to see my consultant a few weeks ago, i have only just been able to bring myself to say something cos I am so mad!

I was waiting for 2 hours to see someone in the clinic, there were 3 other people with the same time appointment, and one women went in a whole hour before me!!!!!

When i got in I saw a doctor who really didn't know what what she was doing, she hadn't read any of my notes and i had to go through the whole fun filled 3 years all over again. I told her the my facial hair was soooo bad and depressing that i had gone for laser hair removal but i also had hair all over my body, and my weight had gone up and i was unhappy that i wasn't pg.

She told me they wouldn't do anything about not being pg cos i hadn't been trying for 1 year yet, erm hold on! I have been trying for 2 years now and although i have had a m/c and ectopic i still have no baby!?!?! so she agreed to run hormone tests cos my ectopic was over a year ago.

She spoke the the consultant about my case, which would have been easier and quicker if i had just seen him myself and she came back a prescribed Vanqua?!?? Although i told her i had laser there were no longer hairs on my face and vanqua doesn't even stop it just in some cases masks the growth a little.

What a complete waste of my time, i was furious when i left. the only thing that cheered me up was that DH also had to have a sperm test, which is about time after all the proding i have had, although its totally pointless because i have been pg twice!?!!?

It has totally narked me i am sooo upset about it all. I go for my first hormone blood test on sunday, no doubt they will either draw a blank or the hospital will lose them.

Sorry you had to go through that. Doctors really suck sometimes and they could at least have the decency to read your notes before seeing you.

I hope that the hospital gets their backsides in gear and sort things out for you

Oh how frustrating for you. Why did they seem to think you had only been trying 1 year?? Do you have a follow up appointment?

Something that absolutely peeves me is when the doctors/consultants don't read your notes even BRIEFLY before seeing you and you have to explain EVERYTHING.

I hope your luck turns around soon.
