Points: 1,391.43 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,391.43 | What were your symptoms before you were dx-ed?? HI...
I'm having various symptoms that match those for hyperthyroid... but my levels are always normal. I'm wondering what your symptoms were and how you got dx.
I'm with an HMO and have to get my GP to send me to specialists and she doesn't want to because she has done 'her' tests and says there isn't anything wrong. I just want her to do a proper TSH test...which so far hasn't been done.
Thanks
soupy

My Mood: Points: 11,322.78 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 11,322.78 | Gosh I could have posted this myself. I am so sick of feeling like this and having the tests be normal. SOMETHING has to be wrong. I dont want to take meds the rest of my life but if it helps with the overtired-ness and the brain fog. I feel like I cant think clearly at all. I do get cold, mostly my hands and feet. When I got my TSH tested back in Nov, it was 2.98. Now with the levels changing their normal rate to 3.0, that is so close to the borderline. I am going to try and get my levels tested again to see if the TSH changed. I dont know what the deal is but I am going to pay attention to this post and come back to it. I just dont know what else do to. Good luck to you. |

Sometimes GPs aren't always up to date on the latest thyroid news. It seems as though many still follow old guidelines and patients are suffering as hypo because of that. Do you have copies of your lab results? Some labs have not set their computers to the newer guidelines as well. If you do have your lab results, posting them here can help us help you determine if they are using old values or not.
As a patient, it is your right to get a second opinion. Can you see another doctor in the same office? Remember this is your health, if you don't advocate for yourself, no one will.

A doctor who helped me." I posted what you should be tested for in addition to TSH. My doctor discovered that despite normal results, I had high levels of reverse t3, which still made me hypo.
