Linda: Getting sleepy is a sign of IR and diabetes. I know when my blood sugar is high I get very sleepy. The next doctor visit your doctor will most likely suggest a diet that you need to go on in order to cut down on the amounts of bad carbs you are now consuming and suggest an exercise routine. That is if the doctor hasn't already suggested these things.

    Hello dear,
My fasting insulin test result was 50.3 (yikes). I am so tired all the time. I'm always yawning. It's so annoying. I seen my doc last week, and he's setting me up with the dietician ASAP. My sister-in-law has PCOS too, and the dietician GAVE her a blood-glucose monitor. Those things are mighty expensive. Anyhow, I tested my blood sugar the other night and it was at 3.1. If I don't get on a proper diabetic diet soon I could end up in a coma or something. This is so scary. My doctor told me I need to eat 6 small meals a day, as opposed to 3 larger ones. My ob/gyn put me on provera and avandia. So far avandia agrees with my stomach. Metformin made me so ill. My stomach hurt all the time and I had diarrhea constantly. So ask your doc to hook you up with the dietician to start a diabetic diet, and ask the dietician about a glucose monitor. Let me know how you make out, and I'll keep you posted too
    Love
    Amber
