OHIP will cover all testing, they don't cover IUI and IVF partially if both tubes are blocked.
If you are using a fertility clinic, OHIP will cover the cost for the bloodwork, and u/s.
I wish you success on your journey. Welcome to Soulcysters, it's a great place to be.

Everything in life happens for a reason; my PCOS must have a reason.
my IUI treatments were around $250 without the trigger shot. if you have to travel to a different city (as I did) you can also get Ontario travel grants. just get the forms at your local OHIP office and bring them with you to all appointments
In aprox. three years of treatments and meds my dh & I spent about $65000 on infertility stuff in Ontario. We did iui's, Ivf's, fet's & numerous non OHIP covered testing(from the U.S.)
One doctor we spoke to pointed out a good point. Kids are expensive, more than treatments....and it's kinda true.
If you do proceed with treatment spend your money wisely and wisely chose your doctor. Don't settle for a doctor cause they are close or cheaper. Chose them because they care more about their patients than their new Mercedes.
Also do your research before proceeding with OD. There are alot of risks and some say that it should be considered a last resort(not debating this issue....)
However this is jumping the gun. Many woman with PCOS have success with Metformin, Clomid & timed intercourse.
Having done the journey over and over I can only say that I can not stress enough the importance of research & knowing your stuff. If you bring up a study, product or treatment that your doctor doesn't know about....they are not the right doctor for you.
Anyways this is just my two cents.
Good Luck.
Oh we are definitely not at the point to be considering OD. I was just curious about what is covered and what is not. I was diagnosed in 1998 and I have been researching ever since and I agree that you need to know everything. I work in the medical field so I know that if you don't look after yourself and push for what you need and want, you can get screwed.

Thanks for posting all this info. I just moved to Ontario, and I'm considering asking to get OD done on my right (anovulatory) ovary. If I ever get an appointment at the infertility clinic, that is.
Also didn't know about the travel grants. That's useful.
