Default What would you like to know about PCOS and nutrition?

Hi everyone,

Next year I am planning on starting my Masters in Nutrition and Wellness.

I have been researching PCOS since I was diagnosed at the age of 16 (There's not much good easily accessible PCOS info now... But back then (I'm 34 now) there was nothing!)

I am wondering what it is most PCOS gals would like to 'solve' with regard to their condition. I will be completing a thesis. Of course, PCOS will be the focus. I'd just love to know which aspect of PCOS would be most helpful to people.

ie weight loss, restore period, infertility, fatigue, improve skin etc

I look forward to your responses!

Thankyou for your help.

But it's all related. Personally, I can't say "Oh, infertility is worse than acne and the hair" because I know that the source of the infertility, acne and hair is the same.

I would like to "solve" PCOS.

I guess for me the biggest issues are the infertility, hair growth, depression/anxiety, fatigue, weight issues and most recently hair loss.

I haven't ever been TTC so although I'm aware of the infertility implications, they haven't bothered me as of yet.
I'd ideally like my skin to clear up (as shallow as that sounds it is SO hard to feel good about yourself when you have these things literally staring everyone in the face), to have energy - as I often feel exhausted - and to shift the stubborn belly fat.

I've often thought that if I was to carry on and do research (I have a background in nutrition) I would look at something that nutrition acheives on its own to do with PCOS...

..Cos I know I'm slowly but surely conquering all those things primarily with exercise (although i haven't TTC) and I guess diet is almost secondary which to me is a shock after years of almost being convinced otherwise.

I would look at the likes of deficiencies (particular vit D) and would like to identify a 'gold standard' of treatment for this (or another relevant deficiency) and its individual impact on PCOS (holding other variables constant or statistically adjusting for these confounding factors)
