Amy - can you please make this thread a sticky too??

Two books I'm reading and LOVING at the moment are:

Change your thinking by Sarah Edelman (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

Meals that Heal by Anne Egan and Regina Ragone (based on the thought Let food be thy medicine by Hipprocates) - this is really good, broken up into disorders so it's easy to look up and also each recipe says what it's good for and what is in it (vit's, min's, omega-3 fats etc etc).

Not exactly an "alltime favourite", but well worth the investment are these Aussie pcos books (not sure if you can get them in NZ?):

John A. Eden - Polycystic Ovary Syndrome :A Woman's Guide to Identifying and Managing PCOS.
http://www.dymocks.com.au/dynamic/Fu...SBN=1741145279

The New Glucose Revolution:Managing PCOS by Jennie Brand-Miller, Prof. Nadir R Farid & Kate Marsh.
http://www.hha.com.au/books/0733618472.html

Low GI guide to Managing PCOS Jennie Brand-Miller, Prof. Nadir R Farid & Kate Marsh.
http://www.hha.com.au/books/0733621236.html

There's a bunch of other pcos books available by writers from other countries too.

Back to the alltime faves...

Oh I LOVE books! I love Grisham and Tom Clancy. And yes, Dan Brown - to me he's not specifically a good writer but a terrific storyteller. Also like Mathew Reilly - gutsy Aussie boy who took a punt and made good.

But my first love is romance novels. I am a romance writer, published in short stories and articles, but aspiring to the big book I have many favourite authors - many Aussie and international authors who are my friends too (so I'm kinda biased). Trish Morey, and Nicola Marsh both have books (Mills & Boon) onshelf this month - both are personal friends. And Lucy Monroe (in the US) also has one out this month - she lives in the US and is just the most gorgeous person.

Why do I love romance? It's a feelgood read with a happy ever after ending. It's about love, family and community.

Just thought I'd add a couple of books I've just read that I thoroughly enjoyed...

'Like Water for Chocolate' by Laura Esquivel

"By The River Piedra I Sat Down And Wept" by Paulo Coelho.....this book was BRILLIANT!!! Questions the place of religion and ficticiously predicts the transformation that is happening/will happen for the world's spirituality. I LOVED it.

Kind of, Deb. It is, in that it's ficticious with a powerful spiritual message that rings true. Have you read any of Paulo's books? The Alchemist? That's probably his most famous book. Very good reads. You would love them...I'm sure of that. I've got The Alchemist and will bring in with my when I come to visit on the school hols.

Hi,

Just wanted to add "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. One woman's search for herself in Italy (eat), India (pray - meditation) and Indonesia (love).

A fantastic book you can't put down!

Kate.
