Thread: What, in your opinion, are the TOP 3 issues/problems women with PCOS face?

    1. DOCTORS...idiot, incompetent, lazy doctors who aren't willing to listen or find the right treatment.

    2. WEIGHT/HAIR/AF issues

    3. PREJUDICE from doctors and society who think that I'm fat because I'm lazy.

In truth, if doctors had done their jobs in the first place, my weight would be normal, my thyroid issue would have been treated when it started (when I was a teenager) and I probably NEVER would have developed PCOS. Doctors dropped the ball and it's *ME* who has to pay the price.

OK here are my top 3

    1- Depression.

2 - Acne . looking in the mirror everyday day seeing this disgusting stuff on my face and my body. Also the money I have spent looking for the perfect, miracle product to clear it all up

3 - Weight - again looking in the mirror at this fat, lardy body. Not being able to get into nice clothes , especially in the summer. like many have mentioned already people think we can just go on a diet. It is so much harder for woman with pcos to loose weight.

I don't wanna be perfect , I don't wanna be a size 6 with crystel clear skin and bouncing around perfectly happy all the time I just wanna feel in control of my body and mind.

    Hi,

I'm new to the boards and thought I'd add my list in too.

    1. Facial hairs
    2. weight ~ which causes lots of depression
    3. AF ~ which makes me mad. I'm currently on CD 117 wondering if she'll ever arrive w/o me taking anymore provera.

    Here are my three:

    1. Central obesity -- weight gain in the abdomen/torso area is the most dangerous type of weight gain because it is usually correlated w/ a higher risk of heart problems. It's also realllly hard to lose this weight!

    2. Excess facial hair -- hard to manage

    3. Having the skin of a teenager when you're not! (Oily, unpredictable)

For me, the fertility thing isn't really an issue as DH and I don't wish to be parents. So in a way, that works out as a benefit to us.
