Question What are your pelvic ultrasound results & hormone levels? What's typical to PCOS?

I just got a detailed print out of my pelvic ultrasound, and was wondering if anyone else wanted to share theirs so we can all get a sense of what's common with PCOS?

Uterus size: (1 fibroid on left side )
8 x 5.3 x 3.5 cm

left ovary: 3.6 x 2.2 x 2.2 cm
right ovary: 4 x 3.2 x 2.6 cm
several less than 5 mm benign follicular cysts on ovaries.

Is it normal for your ovaries to be different sizes? Is this typical to PCOS?

I also had elevated Testosterone:
Testosterone Total: 77 ng/dL
Testosterone Free: 1.09 %

What are your numbers????

That's totally a good question. I wasn't given any numbers I was only told that my blood test confirmed I had PCOS. I will have to ask for levels when I go in next month.

"normal" testosterone (total) is: 2 to 45
for testosterone (free) it's 0.5 to 2.0

Hey your user name seems like you might be from NZ? If you are check out the NZ thread, I have posted a link there about understanding your bloods etc.

Also as for ovaries being different sizes. I would think this is completely normal. We are not perfectly the same size on each side... ie hold up your hands next to each other, one will be slightly bigger.

Hi coolpinkgirl!

It may sound Maori because it's actually Hawaiian I live in Hawaii.
I am going to look for the NZ thread you are talking about. If I can't find it, can you give me a link to it?

thank you!

There is no 'typical pcos'. That's one reason it's so hard to diagnose.
