my longest was all of oct/nov/dec ... then i stopped in jan ... and had nothing up until july ... as of today i have bled for 17 days straight ...
fluxuates between spotting to medium flow ... but i've had a ton of tests done .. u/s ... hsg's ... bloodwork ... all is normal and no cysts or anything at all so basically they dont know why i bleed like i do ...

My longest bleed was for 10 months straight. I stopped for 1 day within that time, but started back up the next day. They put me on BC but no matter what strength I go with, it shortens to two weeks. Does anyone else have this problem??
i have been bleeding with heavy clots for 1 year so far and still counting. just can't figure it out. just went to dr and she prescribed bcp so i am taking progesterone every day instead of just half the month. just makes it worse.
Mine was about 2 months, they found a polyp when they did a vaginal ultrasound. I took Slow Fe (its iron that is better tolerated my the stomach- you can get it over the counter). I just had a D&C to get rid of the polyp- they found 7 and said the polyps were responsible for the prolonged bleeding after a period and then the hemorraging I had.

For 4 weeks and counting *sigh* it sucks...I tend to plug it up anymore for hours on end and overnite becuz I am so sick of being dirty and feeling nasty with the being wet all the time...
Sorry to be so graphic but I am so freakin tired of this I could scream...not to mention pressure from DH to .. well... you know

Let's see... beginning of last month around Sept.3 and still going. I have an appointment next month with my gyn. The next month is just "wait and see" mode. I'm waiting for AF to go way and see no end in sight. It just got heavier yesterday

i am still going right from 3.5 weeks ago, and I am on BCP's. I do have an appt. end of the month, but I am afraid she won't be of help. This kind of bleeding reminds me of my endometriosis days. I pray its not coming back. Oh Boy! here we go again!!!!!!!!!

starting about two years ago i would have one for 6 months at a time then not have it at all for the next 6 months. it would start really light and then get extremely extremely heavy with huge clots and it felt like i was losing all my organs.. it was to the point that i was running to the bathroom every 20 mins.
i had seen two gynos about it with no help from them, just bcps which did not help. they suggested a d&c and sonogram but when i went back for my appt the doc had to deliver so he couldn't see me and this happened twice so i gave up.
after my last bout of a 5 month period that just ended a few months ago i was desperate for something to help. i read about cinnamon and started taking it twice daily. this was before i found this forum. so i have been taking cinnamon for the past few months and i have had two normal periods! i suggest cinnamon strongly for those of you that are experiencing long/heavy periods.
I bled for 4 months straight solid AF after stopping depo. I also bled twice a month AF for 2 years. Doctors either told me it was all in my head or that "nothing was wrong." Yep. A cancer doctor finally did a biopsy (negative) and when I began DCI, I finally ovulated and the endless bleeding stopped.
Don't let them talk you into depo to stop bleeding--make them find out what is causing it (polyp, big C, or just lack of ovulation, and a million more things)
