looks like af is deciding wether or not to leave. she has mostly packed up but there are still signs she is hanging around. curse her for doing this the day of my appt. i hate to be bleeding for an appt but i think the doc is going to think i'm crazy. still going to see her. want to see my chart and find out if i should see someone else for pcos since she wil ltreat bleeding but not pcos. there are several docs in the practice. i wonder if met will help me with weightloss. and if i need a water pill that actually works (80mg of lasix is like a baby aspirin---nothing moves)

well, back from the dr. seh was very nice and talked to me for about an hour. offered that i could stay on nor-qd and try it for a few month at least (i will) get another opinion (nope, i believe its pcos and don't need someone else to tell me again) find an re (need one that will take sliding scale payments) and to keep following up. she said i could quit the bcp and ride it out also (not an option)

asked her or a copy of my labs (they did not do very many and i do not understand them even with the posting on labs)

here they are:

testosterone total, lc/ms/ms 41 lab range 2-45
dhea sulfate 119 lab range 30-325
glucose (she said this was a three month range) 88 lab range 65-99 (and htis was taken before i had eaten that day)

other than potassium (4.3) everything else was on the low side of normal. my t-4 is 1.3 lab range .8-1.8

prolactin was a 16.7 which fits into any of their categories.
at least my hgb is up (it was a 5 now its a 12)

The longest AF I have had is the one I'm on now. It started on April 4th and still going strong (202 days as of today). I have finally gotten an appointment to see an OB/GYN on March 4th :o)

holy crap! I have looked EVERYWHERE for other women in my position. I was late by a week, then spotted and spotted - it's been 14 days now. I thought I was dying, but I see it happens to other women. I am so thankful I found this site!

I was prescribed progesterone inserts but i REFUSE to take them because they are seriously insane. The side effects and possible "death" comments in the insert is enough for me to say no.

Has anyone tried progesterone cream to help with the spotting? I was tested for prog when i was late (which would be low anyway) and it was 2.4.

Any helps would be a godsend. I have a toddler and stay at home. It's been such a strain thinking about this.

Default The worst feeling in the world is that it won't stop!

I bled from Febuary of 2004 to September of 2004. I thought that I was going to die. I was pale and it was getting to the point that I could not go to work and all the doctor would say is that it would stop on it's own. It did not stop and finally they started giving me injections and is slowed down.

At the worst point in the middle of it I had golf ball size clots. I thought that I was slowly dying.

Do not worry about bleeding for an apt..The doctors have seen EVERYTHING! I did not like the idea of a pelvic while bleeding either..but the doc was so nice and reassuring...It was not as bad as I thought! Good luck..I hope it lets up.

Annesian, ( I was prescribed progesterone inserts but i REFUSE to take them because they are seriously insane. The side effects and possible "death" comments in the insert is enough for me to say no.) -------- That is crazy!!!! I do not see why they prescribe meds with that serious of side affects...I would refuse too! You are not dying..Your hormones are out of wack...I have been there many times Hope you are able to get regulated

Thank YOU nashea! Do you think my hormones will just smooth out on their own? The spotting makes me so nervous as you can imagine!

I have progesterone cream, should I even bother with it you think? Also, I made an appt to see an acupuncturist. apparently they can raise progesterone and level out other hormones. I never knew they could even do that, but it's a worth a try i guess.

About 4 months for me a few years ago. I had all the doctors at the practice I went to having conferences about me . It really is annoying!!! I've actually done that (bled for more than a month) 4 or 5 times. The dr's tried all kinds of things to stop it - BCP, a double dose of BCP, 3 BCP a day, Provera (made me crazy!!!!). Finally I said forget it, stopped taking everything, and quit two days later. Weird huh? They were talking about a D&C but I quit before they decided whether to do it.

annesian - right now my periods are fairly normal. I am on the pill though. I lost like 50 lbs last year backpacking for 4 months on the appalachian trail and they normalized after that. But....alot of the weight (like 20 lbs) is back (I'm not walking 15 miles a day plus BCP always make me gain some weight) so now things are sort of going crazy again. I've just started treating my PCOS again with Met, diet and exercise so hopefully I'll be able to get things under control before it gets that bad again.
