i agree. i have been bleeding like that for a year. a biopsy was done no cancer and my lining is perfect. it is just unknown cause. i do have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow at 1230 and i will ask the tech questions (even though they don't like to tell you anything)

Kameyan - If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? How long were you on depo and without a period? I've been bleeding off and on and am being told it's hormonal, I even went for a second opinion and they also said hormones. They have told me a biopsy is unecessary, but I'm still kind of concerned.

I put this in the newbie thread but when I was first diagnosed with PCOS and after having heavy periods I bled non-stop from february to july. Sometimes it was light but most times heavy and I was so frustrated and annoyed I felt like flipping out having to wear a pad all the time. They put me on provera which stopped it then it wasn't working now I'm on YAZ.

I bled nonstop for 5 months before I found a health care provider who made it stop. I could always tell when I was becommin anemic, because I would start craving beef all of the time.

I've had two episodes of month-long ones (one was due to coming off Depo)...yeesh, I thought a month was long.

I'm still bleeding. It's been over 6 months. Sunday I started having huge clots and thought I would end up in the ER. I am supposed to have a d & c on 12-6, but they are trying to move up the date.

I was bleeding from december 2006 til may 2007, so its 6mnth (that long I had to wait for appointment).
Doctor prescribed me "Provera" with it I can controll bleeding, but I hate to sit on pills all the time... Now if I'm taking them, i do not beed, but as soon an I stop - bleeding is back.
Doctor suggested to do abrasia, but I'm still hesetating. I don't want that surgery for several readons:
1) It's the same abortion, just for another purposes, so same risks (punching etc)
2) It's done under narcosis and withaut hospitalization, I live far from hospital (250km), after narcosis I won't be able to drive and I don;t think, that it's good idea to take a buss for 5h as well.
3) I have IUD now, it will be remooved durig surgery and I'll have to go on OK. OK can help me or it can happen as previous times I tried (gaining 15kg in less than 3 mnth + loosing libido +.....).
4) I'm not ready to lve without BControll, even chance of getting pregnant without special treatment is close to 0, you know Murphy's law. I can't risk, becaoue ist totaly wrong time for having another baby, and abortion in my situation is not an option.

exoriri, i am doing the same thing you are. i bled from oct 06 until a saturday of last week. i have had ultrasounds done that showed a cyst on my left ovary and a build up of lining. i have never had an iud but i was put on birth control pills and told to double up for 5 days. this is what finally stopped me. i also did not want an ablasion because it basically makes you unable to have a baby. a D&C would only temporarily stop the bleeding until the lining built back up.

i would get a second opinion. you never know what another doctor may suggest be done.

as far as the babies. i know what you mean. the two times in my life i was put on pills to regulate my system, i actually ovulated and conceived the second month. that is how i had my children. knowing what i know now, i am so grateful it happened.

Arpmom - I already got 2. opinion. Both dotcors (in different countrys) suggested abrasion. I'm afraid of punching womb. I know well try for one more baby in few years, so..

I am so glad I found this. I have been bleeding, well just passing clots for over 3 weeks. This happened earlier in the year and last year as well for months at a time. I was put on medication but my endo say it needed to run its course. I just want to grab my gyno by the collar and say "FIX ME!!" I was told I may need a D&C. Will I be able to have kids still with a d&C? I had an internal ultrasound and was told I have a very thick lining.

Mak-actually a D and C might help you to get pg by getting rid of all the old stuff gunking up your lining-I had one when I had the lap that dx my PCOS-then I started taking Clomid and 3 mo later I got pg-

I think the longest one I had was 3 or 4 weeks-when coming off Depo-never again will I take that stuff...
