Default Wheat

LOL any of you ever used whole grain wheat to make anything? I have a 10 pound can-I know some peeps make flour and stuff but I don't have a wheat grinder.

I didn't know you could still buy wheat without it being ground. I buy whole wheat flour usually. A coffee grinder or your blender might be able to grind the grain enough to make flour, not sure. I have used a babyfood grinder to grind oats, and it worked well.

Glad it's not opened. Grains can grow a mold that is deadly to those who are allergic to it.

Let me know what you end up making with it. I'm curious

I think I'll go and find some recipes from the other girls in the church. I had my whole wheat spaghetti last night and it tasted just the same. I will definetly be switching the whole house to whole wheat spaghetti. I wish I knew how it affected blood sugar.

Whole wheat, especially stone ground whole wheat is much easier on the blood sugar from what I understand. Some Whole wheat breads are below 50 on the GI scale. On the scale Glucose is 100 and peanuts are about a 7 and kidney beans a 13. I think I've read you are supposed to mostly stick with foods below 55 or so.
