Unhappy When is it cystic acne? Is less cystic acne a good sign?

I mean, I know the REALLY bad kind - when the infection is deep under the skin, and there is never any head, and it just swells and swells.

SO - I have fewer of those really killer zits now - maybe 1 or 2 a month. But, I still have loads of acne - enough so that I have to wear makeup (I wear base that has salicylic acid in it) every single day or my life, and I generally use coverup once or twice a day, too.

So - does that mean anything that I have a lower incidence of actual cystic acne relative to my total acne problem? I assume, if your hormones are balanced, your acne improves. Is it an "improvement" to have acne that comes to a head and clears up more quickly? Or just no acne at all?

I'm so sick of looking like a teenager. I am so embarrassed of my face. I've always battled acne, really bad in my late teens, but then just a few breakouts a month, until my PCOS flared up, and now I have constant acne - always something flaming red on my face.

SIGH.
