Points: 2,132.96 Bank: 611.08 Total Points: 2,744.04 | When do I increase Met? Hi I have been on Metformin 1000mgs for about 7 mths now, i have had periods on and off since but none since Jan, there is no pattern really. I am due to go to the hospital and see the specialist in 2 wks and was wondering does this sound like the right time to ask for my Metformin to be increased and if so what to? should it go now to 1500mgs daily?
This is quite new to my Dr and i asked him could i go on Met after reading about it on the net, do you think this is the next step that i need in my treatment?
Any suggestions will be warmly welcomed, thank you so much for just reading this xx

Unfortunately, there is no cookie cutter solution for all of us when it comes to met. Everyone is unique, and needs a unique dose. Also, if you look around at some of the other posts, for many cysters, the changes don't come right away. It just takes a while longer to see results for some of us. I would say the best thing to do is see the specialist, have the hormone levels checked, and go from there...there is no set dose for us, because some are taking it to ttc, and some are taking it combat Insulin Resistance and help them to lose weight. Talk with your doc-hope this helps, and good luck! Let us know how you make out....

Your Dr will get a better idea from them if the drug is lowering your chemical levels (FSH, LH, testosterone, free androgen and fasting glucose for insulin) adequately or not. And that is the true sign of whether or not your dosage needs to be adjusted.
