Question When do you take your met?

My OB/GYN told me to take my met 1/2 hr before breakfast and dinner, but sometimes I take it while I'm eating, other times it'll be closer to an hour, other times maybe 10 minutes before I start eating. For those of you that have been on the met for awhile and it's working for you, did you try to take it at a set time with regards to meals or just try to get it in the few times a day it's prescribed?

Thanks

I take 2,000mg Met ER per day and I take the whole dose with my dinner. I do it in the middle or immediately afterwards. If you're on the extended release you can take it all at once... of course check with your dr. first. Both my dr. and pharmacist said this was ok and I have less side effects and I remember to take it.

Sometimes I take mine before my meals but that makes my tummy upset so I try to remember to take it with some food. I would say that you should try it with food at first and see how it goes.

I take my first 500 immediately after I eat breakfast, then my next 500 immediately after I eat lunch then my last 500 before bed with a glass of milk. I find if I eat later than usual (and delay my met dose) I feel dizzy. Anyone else get that???
