When does the bleeding stop? (Yasmin)

i just started Yasmin about 9 days ago. And this is the longest period I have ever had. I haven't yet stopped bleeding. I was on Allese for a short time and had the same thing and quit the first month. Is this normal when startng birth control. I am also starting to feel very depressed but I don't know if its the birth control or all thats going on in my life. Is it normal to keep bleeding like that? I notice when i wake up in the morning the bleeding seems to be tapering off but then a few hours after taking the pill again I start noticing a little more bleeding. Btw Haven't had any weight gain yet (lost 3 lbs so far) but I guess that because I started a diet 4 days after starting the pill. Would appreciate some feedback.

Hi Stormy Girl!

I'm just getting over the same problem with Yasmin. My period started by itself on June 3rd and that's when I started my pack. It was the worse period I can remember and after 14 days I called my gyn. I was still bleeding and I was so irritable that I just wanted to crawl out of my skin. My gyn had me double up on my pills, two a day, until the end of the pack (but skip the last week). I immediately started a new pack of pills, "Mirette", 2 pills per day for a whole pack minus the last week, then start another pack as normal. What a pain just to get the bleeding stopped and I just wanted to say scratch the whole thing since I'm not TTC, but I'm scared my body is totally screwed up by now! I hope other cysters have better results with Yasmin, but personally, I can't handle it. I know exactly what you're going thru. You should definately call your gyn to let the office know what's happening.
