Default when does it count at m/c

I got a BFP last Friday. I was 16DPO, sore boobs, AF late 4 days. We got really excited.

Around 10pm Friday evening, I started feeling just yucky, really, really blechy. I got really terrible cramps about an hour after that. They were so bad I could hardly stand up, so DH and I decided to go to the nearest E.R. By the time we got there, I'd started to bleed. DH explained everything to the triage nurse, the dr came out to see me about an hour later and told me that I couldn't get a BFP that soon, and that I must be stressed out to have such a bad AF visit and sent me home with what amounts to extra strength midol. They didn't even check me over.

Regular dr says they can do intra-vaginal U.S. in about a week to check, but she said it sounds like an early, early m/c. Advice anyone?

I'm sorry - I have no advice for you, I just wanted you to know that I'm sorry you are going through this and I am thinking of you...

A bfp means you conceived. I'm very sorry for your loss and for the way you were treated by that doctor. (((Hugs))) You might want to be monitored next time you conceive in case your progesterone wasn't high enough this time. That seems to be a common reason for cysters to m/c. In my opinion, any loss after a fertilized egg and before 20 weeks is a miscarriage. After that it is considered stillbirth or live birth and then neonatal death. So you definitely had a loss, and however your heart reacts is the way it is supposed to be. This is a personal matter, so don't worry about what other people think about what "counts", okay? ((More hugs))

I am very sorry for your loss.
It is deffinently an ealry miscarriage i belive from previous experience with ones that i have lost it is probably a chemical pregnancy (basically an early pgy loss).
Again I am sorry for your loss & for the way the triage dr treated you. *hugs*

I agree with Hayles that it was a chemical pregnancy and the doctor wasn't very compassionate.

And by the way, my RE did an u/s at 16 DPO with my 4th pregnancy and confirmed that one egg/blastocyst/embryo/whatever you want to call it had "implanted" in the uterine wall. All you could see was a little dot, but it was the cutest little dot I had ever seen! Maybe he's more skilled than other doctors in looking for things on ultrasound, but he found it!

So sorry for your loss...

I'm so sorry for your loss...

You may want to have your doctor do a follow up beta...My last loss, my beta only got up to 120 but it took like a whole month to come back down...Your doctor may want to moniter the drop if it was a chemical pregnancy.

Some doctors are just jerks.

I'm sorry that doctor was so awful! You lost a baby. It doesn't really matter when it happens - a loss is a loss. I'm so sorry you're going through this!

((hugs)),
