Question When does Ovulation usually occur after miscarriage?

Hi girls!
I had a m/c on 4/7. I was just about 5 wks along. I bled for approx. 6 days. I didn't require a d&c. I thought I read somewhere that ovulation occurs approx. 2-3 weeks after a m/c. Is that 2-3 weeks from the start of bleeding, or 2-3 weeks after the HCG levels drop to - ? My HCG levels were confirmed - on Friday, 4/11. So, I am trying to figure this all out!
Thanks for your help!

Hi BillysMommy - I am sorry to hear about your loss. I had a m/c last July 07 and was at 9 weeks, but development stopped at 6 weeks. I also had it naturally and bled for about 6 days.

So that was July 21, 2007. I got my first period on September 21st.

I hope this information helps.

Sheri

BillysMommy, it's so hard to tell. You're still bleeding, hormones are all over the place. I would give yourself a little time. I jumped straight back into the saddle (so to speak!), but I was so griefstricken, I didn't want to face the fact my body was damaged. I'm sorry, I'm sure you said (once I started this post, my rabbit and 2 kittens came and pooped at my feet, so it kind of grossed me out, and I forgot exactly what you said), but how did you miscarry? Naturally or D&C? I understand D&C makes things a little simpler, I could be wrong. Good luck honey.

I'm sorry for your loss. My most recent loss was at 12 weeks and I bled for 3 weeks. 1 week after the bleeding stopped I ovulated. It's now been 3 1/2 months since my loss and my body is finally starting to get back 'in the groove' of things prior to the loss. I've had other losses where I didn't bleed but a few days and had my regularly scheduled AF show up. I think everyone's different and I also think it has alot to do with how far along you were, etc. Many hugs!

My sincerest apology for your loss. I miscarried back in November at 8 weeks (baby stopped developing at 6 weeks). I had a D&C and bled for 2 weeks afterward. It took me 7 weeks to get my period again (5 weeks after the m/c bleeding stopped). My ob told me that it is like any other pregnancy - it takes about 6 weeks for your body to return to its normal state. Of course, every woman is different. And it seems that every dr gives different advice and recommendations. I know this isn't much help, but I just wanted to give you another experience to compare to. I wish you the best of luck.

Sometimes there is no telling when you will actually ovulate after a m/c. I had a m/c in Sept. 07 and I was just waiting to get my first period after, instead I find out I am pg again. My m/c was in the end of Sept. and when I didn't start a period by the end of Oct. I tested and was PG. We weren't trying at that time. So obviously I o'ed less than a month after my m/c.

I had a m/c in January at 4 weeks 5 days. Likely a chem pg. I bled for about 6 days, and my cycles went right back to normal. It was as though my m/c was just my regular period and I O'd right on schedule the next month.
