Unhappy When the heck is this going to kick in and help me O?

I am kinda starting to get aggrivated with how this Glucophage is going.I feel like it is doing nothing.
At first I started out with the running to the bathroom and the cramps and the moodiness etc.. then it got better.. Now I can even eat things and it doesn't make to big of a difference w/ side effects.
The biggest thing about this is that I haven't seen a change in my basal temps. Still showing annovulatry patterns. up/down up/down. This gets so aggrivating. I feel like I want to cry right now.

I have been ttc for 4 years. I have 2 girls (9&4) And each one was a struggle to concieve..This one even harder. I have done 4 rounds Clomid.temps..etc.. and everytime I get to that place where you should be showing a temp rise......NOTHING.
I am sorry I am spilling this all out.. But I just wish the Gluc was making me so sick. , so I knew it was doing something. I still temp every morning just to keep a record of how things are going..I was Dx w/ PCOS 7/02 and put on Gluc XR 2000mg...Been about a month &1/2... I know it takes time but give me words of wisdom please...I want to take a hpt and see those 2 lines so bad..........Thanks for listening, KIM

I am so sorry this is happening. I wish you happier days and lots of baby dust.

On a funny note I love your name...my mom calls me baby chick a dee and I call her mama chick a dee.

Just a note. Met/Gluc is not a fertility medication. One of the 'happy' side effects MAY be spontaneous ovulation. But I certainly wouldn't totally count on Met/Gluc alone.

Met/Gluc used in conjunction with fertility drugs show to make the fertility drug work more efficiently. Some women resisitant to Clomid, for instance, may have better chances with a Met/Clomid combo.

So far I seem to be resistant to Clomid alone and even though my temps indicate O with Met alone, I still haven't conceived. Hopefully I can start the combo this month.

Good luck to ya!

Have you taken Gluc before? Not all women O on Gluc.

I took Gluc/Met and it regulated my periods but never did it make me O. I needed Clomid for that part of the obstacle!

Good luck I do hope it works for you though!!!

My RE told me that the insulin res. is making it hard for there to be a smooth, correct signal to my ovary letting it know to O. He said the Gluc. will help make that signal more precise and stronger..(if you will)_He also said give it 90 days for it to really do its job and then we may even come back w/ Clomid or even another pill later...He felt strong that in my case I should concieve by this winter...So I do have hope. I am just running out of patients.
My Dr. is so good at explaining..Its hard to put down in words the way he said it to me..In the consultation he had a pad of paper that had all the Female Reprod. plumming on it and drew how the message from the brain was going to my ovary. It was a crazy all over line doing loops all the way down to my ovary...(because of the insulin problem) But w/ Gluc he drew a line much smoother, though curvy it wasn't all over doing loops just to reach the ovary. Does that make sense??

Thanks for the Dust!!! KIM

Here's a little hope for you.

We have been TTC for 2 1/2 years. I have not had a period since 7/01. I have been on Glucophage since May, and nothing has happened. I have a doctor's appointment this coming week, and was planning on telling the doctor that I thought we needed to try something different...

AF made her apperance on Saturday evening. : )

Hoping that maybe we are on the right track. Sometimes it just takes a little time for things to straighten out. I know when the doctor and I had talked she told me it takes longer to straighten things out in people that have been IR for a while.

Default hang in there

I wish i could offer you hope, but instead i am going to wallow in your misery as well. I have been ttc as well and was diagnosed with pcos at the end of july after no periods on my own (no provera) since i went of the pill last november. so not only am i trying to ovulate, i am trying to get my period as well! i am on gluc 2000mg for 8 weeks and nothing!!! (though i have to say i have noticed tremendous mucous changes for what its worthg!!) i am so sad and depressed and my poor husband is trying to be sympathetic but has no clue! i have an appointment on friday to see whats going on! i feel like i am just wasting time! i hope things work for you too! people say really positive things and this seems like a wonderful place to vent, so hopefully you are a little happiner! good luck!
