When should I start provera and clomid?

I was just at my gyn appoint and have now been given a prescription for provera to bring on AF to be followed by Clomid (I'm going to also continue to take met but it hasn't done anything so far).

I have a sonohystogram secheduled for January 4th. Does this date effect when I should start provera (and then clomid)? My doctor didn't say anything about this. I've been given Clomid for days 5-9.
