For long cycles, If I were you, I probably would buy the package of OPK that have like 20 small strips that are supposed to last 1 month. Basically I think your luteal phase should be around 14 days, so that would make O around 24.
However, it is not an exact science, and each woman can be different each month. It would be good for you to check in with the nurse at your dr's office. Also, if you haven't already, you might consider a charting site, to help you keep track of all the cycle info you get while ttc. I use fertilityfriend.com. They offer free 30 membership with all the bells and whistles. I have a basic membership, and that works good for me. They also have a course that they send you online for 20 days that takes you through the whole process. It is very informative.

Good luck

Did you know that OPKs usually don't work if you have PCOS? It says that on the box. I would trying temping and OPKs to see if they correlate. Good luck!

opk's tend to work for me, you should O around 14 days before af comes so if your cycles are 43 days you would O around cd 29 so you would prob need to start testing about cd 24 like the PP said. i would def go for the cheapie internet tests cos the others get very expensive.

good luck!
