Hi all.
I have my 1st appt with an RE on Friday. I am going to ask her if she will RX Metformin for me. I will be on CD16. If she does write me the prescription, can I start taking it immediately or do I have to start on a certain CD? I am not IR, well according to my OB.

I've gained about 12 pounds in the last 3 months, mostly around my tummy area. None of my pants fit me in the waist anymore. I've been on a low carb diet with NO weight loss and I exercise 3-4 times a week.... with and no weight loss.

It's so frustrating!!!

Any advice is appreciated!

Hey there...I just sent you a PM about this since you replied to my post. Yes, you can start taking it when you get it. I'm not officially IR either, but it has been shown in recent research that most women can benefit from Metformin even it they are not IR. I too have been on a low carb diet and am still 200lbs and I can't seem to lose it either. I'm praying that the metformin begins working and I start shedding the weight. Good luck to you!!!
