When to take Met while traveling (BIG time difference)? I'll be traveling to Japan next and I'm not sure how or if to adjust my Met schedule .
've been on Met about 2.5 weeks, and currently take 1500mg XR (3x500mg) with my evening meal, having worked up week by week from 500mg XR (always with evening meal). Happy to say, so far so good. No major side effects (read bathroom issues). I don't know if I'm sleeping through the worst of it, or just very lucky.
Japan is about 12 hours time shift for me. Should I continue to take my met at the "same time" as if I were home (which would actually be breakfast time in Japan)? Or push it back 12 hours and take it with dinner, and then presumably shift back when I'm home?
I must say my eating and sleeping schedule has always been a bit messed up when I'm traveling there. I'm a bit nervous that if I take it at breakfast time there (which would be dinner time here) I might end up in the bathroom all day, which would make attending meetings rather difficult (and potentially embarrasing). But if I shift it back then I'll "miss" 12 hours someplace, and I don't know if that's a big deal.
I will call my dr. later this week, but I was hoping to hear advice from folks who've been on Met longer than I have and/or who have traveled with substantial time shifts. Any and all thoughts/suggestions appreciated! |
