RE started me on 500mg Met everyday with dinner, he wants me to work up to 2000mg a day with two in the morning and two in the evening. He told me to wait a few days before upping the 500 to 1000, but he didnt tell me anything after that. When should I up the dose again and then up it ultimately to the 2000? Do I need to wait a specific period of time?

I'd love to see replies from some cysters! I called my nurse back to see what dosage the doctor had prescribed.......500MG. That's all! Not to work up to 1500 or 2000, just straight 500 mg. Does that seem low to anyone?

My doc just put me on met the other day and I was told to work up to 1500mg I am to take 1 pill for a week next week take 2 pills and then the 3rd week take the pill 3 times a day

I have no idea if I am IR. I was supposed to get a fasting glucose for my gyno but my RE started me on met and I was afraid that would mess with the results so I havent bothered to get the test done. My RE didnt even test me for anything. I am so confused sometimes

I think you'd have to check with your doctor to be sure but mine said 500 for one week, then 1000 next week, 1500 third week (but only if I am feeling ok and can tolerate it). God bless...I hope it helps us all
