Hi all junior j here (jess) this is my new account so people who already know me hi lol
Anyways recently my skin has got incredably bad i mean really bad to the point make up will not cover it , you name the spot and skin products i will have tried them , i have done old fashioned treatments , simple treatments , natrual treatments...you name it
Its really knocking my confidence big time!!!!
Anybody had this problem before?
It used to be just bad around Af but now its bad all the time!!

I had moderate acne when I was 17 but a couple of rounds of antibiotics cleared it up totally for five years. I started to get it again in my early twenties but not as bad....if acne is caused by PCOS then you need to sort your hormones out. Have you been on birth control? Yaz or yasmine should help. | |

I have been on many many times of birth control including the depo and mini pill , dianette, normal pill...i could go on lol

Or Exercising?

Hi Jess! Well, I know it's disheartening, but I'm 30 and I'm still waiting for my skin to straighten itself out. Yikes!
I still have a lot of oiliness, but I've cleared pretty much all of my blemishes with Lush products. Have you ever tried 'em? Their Herbalism cleanser cleared my skin really quickly!

I had awful cystic (so painful and huge) acne for years and yes diane-35 did help but not fully... but the best thing i have tried and I'm always talking about is: SAW PALMETTO!!!!!!!
I've been taking it for 4 months now and I don't get those awful and painful zits anymore. Seriously give it a try, you can get a bottle of it at your healthstore for like $10. What do you have to lose? | |

hmmm Saw palmetto you say?? What exactly is it?
I'm also 30 and still get the cystic pimples every now and then...and they take soooo long to go away!! I hate that!
I would love to have something near by that will help with that!
Another question..does Diane-35 also help with weight?

Saw palmetto is a plant that is typically marketed to men (its normally under the men's section in health stores) but that is just because they are not acknowledging its other benefits. It is used by men to prevent or help with prostate cancer and health, it does this by blocking the conversion of testosterone (or something fo that nature.. if you want to know specifically i will gladly find you the right info) so that is why it is also able to block the male hormones in our bodies and prevent acne from coming up. The only downside I have heard with saw palmetto is weight gain for some but I personally have not experienced this (only clearer skin  )
I neither gained wore nor lost it while I was taking Diane-35 and hve not heard how it affects women's weights in general. It is I believe one of the strongest BCPs and is definitely meant for women who severe problems with excess androgens (male hormones) which causes our bad acne.

The weight gain thingy with sal palmetto kinda scares me..although you say you didnt gain any weight..it still is something that will scare a lot of us away!!

I've got it bad again and I just had my 31st birthday... I'm old, I have stretch marks all over, and I still have to deal with breaking out like a teenage boy??! That has been my mantra the past few months!
I just today bought a tea tree oil face wash at a health food store. I've heard good things, and will report in to everyone if it works!

From my understanding it is fine to take with BCPs... but if you are taking Diane-25 it already has an andrgen blocker in it so in that sense it may be pointless to take. Know what I mean? | |
